Havanese are our Passion.
Welcome to our website, please pull up a seat, stay a while and enjoy our family of Havanese. All of our Havanese live inside our home 24/7. Their loveable, comical personalities are by far always entertaining.
Havanese originated in the Mediterranean, although years ago, they were found throughout France, Italy and Spain.
They are cousins to the smaller Bolgnese of today and the Maltese. They were taken to different  shores and distributed. The Cubans seem to feel that these little dogs were 1st brought to their shores by the Italian sea captains who carried them on board for entertainment and to further their personal trade at different ports to offer to wealthy senoras. Offering a baby Havanese to the senoras would get them a personal invite into their homes, where then one could discuss trade thoughout the small port towns.
Thus, is the reasoning of many being from European countries today. The Havanese were smuggled out of Cuba during the Great Exodus to foreign lands. While in Cuba, they belonged to the extreme elite  people there.

A good quality Havanese is a rare treasure to find these days. As more and more are being produced, to find a wonderful pet that will be with you for many years you must find a breeder that medically tests their Havanese adults. OFA is the certification for the "Orthopedic Foundation Association," that certifies that your Havanese come from adult lines with good patellas...this is important due to Luxating Patellas (kneecaps) are usually inherited (but sometimes can be brought on by excessive "jumping."  Another health issue with the Havaense breed is the Cataracts of the eyes. Adults must also be tested to show there is no cataracts in the adult parents eyes to pass down to their babies. Blindness can occur at a very young age if the adults have not been tested. When looking for quality, you must ask for these certifications to be shown.  This will assure you of receiving a happy healthy Havanese that will not put you through misery and heartache later. It is well worth the price now, then the triple added extra expense in the long run with knee or eye surgeries.
The Havanese do have many  wonderful health aspects to their breed in that they are hypoallergenic, due to their dual coats, they insulate from heat or cold by themself.
They are non shedding, odor free and dander free. For dog lovers suffering with dog allergies, the Havanese have been a breed they can live with without any problems.
I have personally sold several of my dogs to several allergy sufferers with fantastic results.

Being a breeder of Cocker Spaniels for 15 years, I immediately fell in love with the Havanese the moment I laid eyes on one. That was 4 years ago and now own 3 females and 2 males, that are bred only once per year. Each one was carefully hand selected from top Havanese lines. They are our family and our family's passion dedicated to bringing the healthiest, happiest Havanese babies of top quality possible to your family.

If you are looking for a great pet quality or showing quality we have them!
I have been a breeder for over 20 years with breeding Cocker Spaniels for 15 years.
When I was a very small girl growing up, my mother raised Poodles. Now, for the last 4 years, I have been also raising the Havanese. They are "people dogs" and love to be next to you. They are sweet, dedicated and the most loyal dog you will find.

Unfortunately, now, as with other breeds, since becoming AKC registered, many people have bred the Havanese with other dogs such as the Maltese, Shih Tsu and now I have even seen with a Chiuahua. We are dedicated to bringing you the purest form of the Havanese. No crossbreeding! We also do not feel comfortable with 'in-line' breeding (this is where a 'relative' is bred to another 'relative' of their line). Only the purest of Havanese.

Please do not hesitate to email us for ANY information on the Havanese breed.
We can speak "Havanese" .....it is our  Passion.

What to expect from a Havanese: Is a Havanese right for you????

Country of Origin: Cuba or the Mediterranean.

Size: Height: 8.5 to 11.5 inches; Weight: 7-13 pounds (Not 15-20 pounds as many are).

Coat: The Havanese coat is actually "hair" as we have. It is a dual coat, therefore their sweat gland is plugged with a hair follicle. Because of this, they do not sweat, produce dander or an odor and are HYPOALLERGENIC. Havanese are also non-shedding, and can come in a variety of colors including cream, chocolate, pure white, reds, sables, fawn, blacks, including partis (white base body with coloring added) either red partis or black partis,or combinations of several colors.
Some can be straight, while others are curly and produce a "corded" coat.

Character: The Havanese is very intelligent, happy-go-lucky, lively, and playful. They LOVE and LIVE to please you. Very "People" dogs...wanting always to be with you.

Temperament: Havanese get along well with children and other pets. They do well in almost every social situation. Very happy, playful, yet quiet. Loves to dance on their backfeet. At times your havanese will be a "jokester."

Care: The coat requires brushing often and is not normally clipped. However, "puppy cuts'' are easier to manage and cute.

Training: This breed is eager to please, but positive reinforcement works best with consistency.

Activity: This breed's need for exercise are average. Short walks once or twice a day should keep it happy. They will play by themselves or with anyone they come in contact with it they wish to play. They love to cuddle!
